In the race the flag fell on defending champion 348 Sonny Sherwod (Cavalier) but a subsequent lap sheet and video check revealed Fuller as the true winner, 348 Mushy second ahead of Vincent and 131 Barry Wade.

158 Shane Davies ends the Supreme with a bang blowing up 222 Matt Logan

40 cars assembled for the first Allcomers with 285 Mr Misery laying into the Leg-End from the off as Harris stuffed 306 Reuben Cunningham (Mk2 Granada) and Gill hammered 146 Dan Wigam in an all Primera affair with 198 Marcus Goldsmith (Mk3 Granada) then T-boning the latter. 708 Jamie Nottingham gave Mr Misery a big hit only to take one in turn from 505 Del Heppard as Girling stuffed 12 Trevor Buckley (Sunny) as Mavis nailed 146 Wiggy. Gill then did a superb 2 ½ roll at the end of the home straight to bring the reds out but not before 41 Lee Haywood (Praire) blasted Nottingham. A massive road bend pile-up formed as the race resumed with Psycho piling Starman into the heap before on the pit bend 400 Kevin Shinn picked up Lee Haywood with Stopher giving a late push to run them both in. The Leg-End wasted Cunningham as 128 Lacky scored on Stopher onto to take one in turn from Nottingham who went on to hit 17 Mark Anderson on the nose. 180 Sparky and Foster then pounded Lacky with numerous hits as 710 Ben Wilkins hammered 400 Shinny en route to the win ahead of 472 Matt Cooke and Murfin with just six finishing.

Big damage for 285 Mr Misery and 310 Eno

36 lined up for the second Allcomers which was pure dynamite and would ultimately go to the last car. Perrin started things by burying 619 Tomo as Heilds trashed 36 Ben Hamilton only to take on in turn from 215 Michael Croxon. Huffy then followed in 262 Kevin Lee (Cavalier) as a huge pile-up formed by the start line. 313 John Cullingford (Volvo 240) blasted 310 Eno as 239 Nemesis buried himself in the boot of 364 Sean Winchester . 169 Lenny Boy treated 730 Deano to T-bone as Perrin set about Croxon. Abra landed a big hit on 665 Stu Scarlett only to tae one in turn from Huffy with Piglet doing the latter in turn as Heilds blasted Lee on the nose. Abra again pounded Scarlett while 307 Jon Joe Cunningham hammered 313 Cully and 300 Dan Kirkbride blasted Piglet. 917 Derek Jones then hit Heilds and Nemesis scored on 742 Ian Gregory who shrugged it off to hit 730 Deano on the nose. 917 Mr NSD landed a cracking hit on 455 Rick Finnet as Eno piled Perrin into a large heap. Finney turned round to attack Abra as 402 Phil Cleverly (Cavalier) met 300 Dog End Dan on the nose. 188 John Reeves blasted Skippy and 742 Taz connected with a big T-bone on Spud. Old Roy then weighed in on Eno with Nemesis also attacking the latter as Finney blasted 207 Compo. 188 Victor gave Dog End Dan a brutal hit before the former stuffed Compo with Finney landing a head-on to the latter. This allowed Nemesis to blast the Stinkbridge star as Linsdale and Spud enjoyed an all Volvo head-on. Victor further trashed Compo only to take under attack from Finney and Nemesis as a result. 402 Filo then T-boned Finney which he brushed off to hit Nemesis on the nose as Victor then blasted Filo. Finney then hit Victor over the front wheel firing the latter up to turn round and even the score. Nemesis then silenced Finney leaving him and Victor to settle it with some head-ons which eventually the left the RDC man as the only car left running.

Trashed Bluebirds for 207 Compo and 455 Rick Finney

28 returned for the third Allcomers which was much quieter although an early sort out saw Lown clobber 688 Wayne Morphet on the nose, the latter bouncing back to lean in 98 Chipboard. 516 Gouldy laid into Murfin as 385 Jason Todd (Primera) attacking Nottingham and Morphett scored on Dalton. Murfin then turned round to attack 70 Anthony Long before he stuck it to the Common Crusher a couple of laps later in the normal direction. Mr NSD then stuffed the luckless Long but the latter came back to stuff Todd only to be blasted by Mavis in turn with Murfin T-boning the latter. 119 Cruncher held off 741 Capt D to win with Mullarkey third while a bit of afters saw Morphett and Todd attack Murfin just as the reds came out.

It was pushing 11.30pm when the cars came out for the last race with not quite 20 on track and only around half for the Accumulator which began an eight lap dash. Murfin made a beeline for Todd and landed a big revenge hit before Cooke set about Battle. Murfin then backed into the traffic by the start line and hammered Nash with Stopher whacking Murfin in turn. Wood then gave the game Todd another big hit before Shinny laid into the Leveller as well while elsewhere Morphet scored in Psycho. Potter meanwhile took his second win ahead of Morphet and Psycho and we went into the DD which was another quality affair. Battle met Psycho in a crunching head-on on the top bend as Jon Joe Cunningham met Todd in similar fashion with Potter piling Nottingham into the latter. Cooke then blasted Skippy as Starman scored on Todd. 776 Ady Groom then dished out a storming hit to Morphett which snapped his own motor big time. Cooke hit Starmar only to take one in turn from Mansfield with Potter completing the train before Psycho piled into Cooke. Heppard blasted the latter's Mondeo with the latter battling on to hit Potter on the nose. Cunningham and Battle also went head to head with Nottingham scoring on the latter before he met Mansfield head-on. This allowed Battle to deliver a revenge hit on the Aftermath young gun before Heppard fired into Cunningham and planted him into the pit bend heap. Mansfield singled out Heppard for a head-on as Nottingham blasted Cunningham only to take one in turn from Cooke. Nottingham went back to Cunningham and they enjoyed a head-on as Cooke fired into Psycho and Mansfield pounded Cunningham who came back to land one on Cooke. The Incarace man then met Starmer on the nose and Nottingham's Bluebird sparked up. Cooke and Starman attacked Mansfield who battled on to hit Cooke on the nose. However a head-on from Cunningham finally stopped Mansfield and the former barely outlasted Cooke after a couple of head-ons to secure the win.

An excellent field of 30 Saloon Stockcars assembled for their first track championship round of 2007 with none of the field including any Scottish or South West based drivers. The first included ex banger drivers 33 Hayden Bennett and 247 Barry Franklin, the Mildenhall debuts of 115 Scott Aldridge, 713 Mark Saunders and 761 James Morris and the return of 75 Des Burton.

29 cars for the opener with Aldridge setting the pace as 317 Dwayne Powell found the fence and 311 Steve Newman spun Burton and brother 912 Andi Newman before Morris had 490 Ian Jarman out. 499 Dave Aldous removed 27 Roy Fuller as the luckless Jarman lost out to 149 Jamie Sampson and 305 Nigel Parker spun 562 Trevor Gray and the recovered Powell. 377 Mick Oslar meanwhile took over up front but with five to go it was a hard charging 569 James Radcliffe who had taken the top spot. 428 Lee Sampson spun Parker and 419 Luke Grief turned Aldridge into the stricken Andi Newman, Aldridge coming back to wind out 369 Andy Santry. Radcliffe motored to the win ahead of Oslar and Lee Sampson.

25 cars for heat two including 2 Paul Tuppen in his first race and he wasted little time in spinning Steve Newman as again Aldridge made the early running. Tuppen then found himself on the wrong end of spins from 403 Ashley Foulsham and Grief, the latter spin seeing him collected by 27 Roy Fuller. Radcliffe then turned aside both Steve Newman and 86 Simon Royal as 111 Darryl Goodard leaned in 511 Craig Barnett only to spin himself while 512 Darren Barnett had Franklin around while the latter was lying fourth. A big pit bend sort out saw Santry bundle Radliffe and Darren Barnett into the stricken car of Foulsham with Steve Newman then sending Radcliffe spinning. Powell hooked out Jarman as Aldridge held on for his maiden win ahead of Santry and Lee Sampson.

25 again for the final with Steve Newman having Burton out from the off only for the former to get stuffed seconds later by Foulsham which also claimed Tuppen as Goodard removed Oslar. Franklin made the running until Grief took over but it would all come to nothing as the reds then came out to tend to Saunders who was in trouble at the end of the home straight. A complete restart was led away by 106 Jamie Stafford as Burton bounced Foulsham off the wall and 438 Tony Lay was sent spinning. Franklin laid into Oslar just before the latter retired as Grief spun the luckless Lay en route to racing into the top spot. Stafford then disappeared from contention as he spun after squeezing Radcliffe into the wall. Grief meanwhile motored to a comfortable win ahead of Santry with Aldridge spinning Lee Sampson to snatch third.

Just 10 drivers registered a top six finish during the night to qualify for the first Dash for Cash of the season and only seven were able to return for the race. Grief raced into the early lead as 499 Dave Aldous gave Craig Barnett some stick early on with the world champion then spun by Santry. Craig Barnett would battle past Radcliffe and into second but there was no catching Grief who romped to the flag and the £100 ahead of Craig Barnett and Radcliffe.

Heat One: 569 James Radcliffe, 377, 428, 149, 369, 511, 512, 115, 761, 438
Heat Two: 115 Scott Aldridge, 369, 428, 511, 499, 419, 512, 247, 106, 311
Grand Final: 419 Luke Grief, 369, 115, 511, 499, 403, 2, 305, 156, 490
Dash for Cash: Grief, 511, 569, 369, 428, 115

A storming night's action from both formulas with a great combination of fast racing a big hits to be found. The only down sides was the unfortunate change to the Supreme final result which wasn't made official until after the meeting and the late finish, but in all fairness a 4 ½ hour meeting boasting 170 bangers and eight banger races, including a championship, (plus four Saloon Stockcar races) can't be bad in anyone's book.
