RDC's One Wild Night 2014
Unlimited Bangers BBA Supreme Championship and BriSCA F2 Stockcars

The much anticipated 2014 Unlimited Banger BBA Supreme Championship raised a fantastic field of 115 cars at Mildenhall Stadium on March 22 with every ORCi promotion represented save Mendips with a strong showing of overseas drivers with eight from mainland Europe plus two more from Ireland as well as a quartet from Crimond in Scotland while several teams were represented including the Bears, present for the first time in numbers at the track. Over half the cars on hand were fresh and there were some impressive machines among them, the Granada entry including fresh Mk2 saloons for 147 Francious de Roubaix and 811 Pete Winter plus a Mk3 limo for 599 Matt Gray, all of which were very smart. 162 Rob Whatley debuted a Jaguar XJ-S while there was a small outbreak of Rover P5s, 210 Steve Hayward and 326 Shane Lynn parading cool matching coupes while 232 Richard Swallow had a saloon and 433 Ben Smith a used example and 239 Steve Carter wielded a Ford Crown Victoria. Further used cars of interest were the Mk1 Granada of 508 Harry Bradbury and Rolls Royce Silver Shadow of 912 Kieran Greenway. All cars are Granadas unless otherwise stated and if no model information if given the car is a Scorpio, ‘240’ and ‘740’ relate to models of Volvo and ‘300’ and ‘400’ to models of Lexus’.

Despite a huge queue trying to get into the pits for over two hours leading up to start time, the majority of drivers eligible for the last chance qualifier made the gate with a 34 car grid for the bumper crowd on hand. A wild start began with 390 Dave Gibson (Mercedes E300) running in 327 Mick Maskall Jnr hard before 981 Patrick Kisterman (740) met the spun 508 Led Head on the nose and took a big hit from 89 Joe Barratt with 527 Michael Norman (300) nailing the latter in the rear wheel before 515 Gareth Flatters (Omega) stuffed 380 Trevor Wright (Mk2 estate) which also claimed 326 Ratty and the lush XJ of 237 Gary Nash. 209 Tom Waller did not hesitate in blasting 210 Stevo who’d got caught in the melee and he duly took a hard hit from 321 Kieron Fry (Previa) while 726 Kalin Dawe (XJ) found the luckless 327 Little Legs for a head-on. 390 Gibbo continued to flatten the luckless 322 Thomas Fox (240 estate) on the home straight as de Roubaix rammed 237 Nasha. Swallow then attacked 132 Rob James (Previa) and crashed into the side of 321 Chatty Man to conclude a manic opening two laps. 89 Panda spotted Swallow and homed in for a solid hit on the Junkyard Dog as 515 Flatts removed 981 Swayze and was duly assaulted himself by 492 Dean Harper (Mk2). 399 John Atkins (Omega) then attacked Stevo who homed in for a roof bending shot on de Roubaix but this also saw Ratty get struck in the driver’s door although thankfully he was ok. 726 Chimp whacked the smart looking 222 Matty High (740 estate) in the rear wheel before he span 380 Shaky to the fence. 898 Andy Battle then piled Flats into 597 Andy Ashman (Mk2) at the end of the home straight and 492 Mullet stuffed Chimp. The final five laps proved quiet save 221 Justin Riley (Mercedes 300 estate) running in 384 John Golden (XJ) as Battle took the flag but a video check confirmed 577 Alfie Lee as the true winner from Battle and 221 Motormouth and they advanced to the main event with just six going the distance, Gibbo named the best entertainer.

Up next was the championship race with the grid not quite as big as anticipated, 64 Barry Lee, 212 Richard Marion and 294 Lee Hughes all late cancellations while 252 Steve Bugler simply no showed leaving a 41 car grid although this became 40 when 331 Jason Jackson (240 estate) failed to start with a blown clutch. After the driver introductions and the call for drivers to start their engines the Incarace draw was conducted to determine the starting grid which placed Dutchmen 116 Mark Jan Klox (Omega estate) and 945 Jeroen Hoes (Mk2) on the front row with countryman 607 Daniel de Hoop (XJ8) behind alongside 2 Georgie Lee and then 577 the Captain and 313 Craig Osborne. 22 Dave Vincent (Mk2) and 328 Dan Lathan (estate) were a couple of rows behind with 247 Lee Clarke (300) immediately behind on row seven and defending champion 382 Jack Foster Jnr (240 estate) on row 15. After two rolling laps, carried out to the sound and sight of a fireworks display, the race began with a huge push into the first bend seeing 116 Klokkie squeeze 945 BB Man into the wall and Osborne shot up the inside to motor into the lead by the time they took the flag. At the rear of the field 266 Callum Hall (300) opened his account by following in 39 Peter Carmoy (740 estate) hard before 151 Dan Smith (240 estate) spun his super smart Volvo 240 estate and was clocked head-on by 173 Steve Reynolds. At the end of the first lap Osborne lead from Lathan, Vincent, de Hoop, Lee, 59 Steve Bolton (740 estate), BB Man, 287 Dean Quinsee (Omega) and 247 Bro, Lathan losing some time as he struck 151 Big Dan while Lee removed Klokkie which delayed him and the Captain also span. By lap two Lee was up to third ahead of Vincent, de Hoop, Quinsee and Bro and already half the field was a lap down. Osborne began his third lap by spinning 266 Odd Job while Vincent did the same to the luckless Carmoy and 347 Dave Bull (240 estate) and 17 Kyle Overy (240 estate) also went round. 148 Ian Redden (240) then span 160 Shayn Winsor (Mk2) as 239 Nemesis turned his big Yank round and stopped 188 John Reeves (Omega estate) dead in his tracks, 148 Shorty firing into the latter in turn only to take one from Battle himself. By the end of this lap just 14 cars remained on the same lap as the leading Osborne while lap four saw Lathan drop down the order to 13th, barely staying on the lead lap while 382 Chubby had rocketed up the order to sixth with 673 Darren Fendley (740) and Bro next. 74 Adam Hitchcock (XJ8) collected the lurking 549 Phil Smith (740 estate) and was duly fenced by 439 Danny Sutton (Mercedes 300) while the Captain turned round to attack Odd Job and 222 Colin Riddell (240 estate) lunged at and span 239 Nemesis which saw the latter clip the passing Osborne but he survived to lead to lap five with Vincent now on his tail. Lee and Quinsee were next with Bro, 204 Charlie King (estate), 318 Wilf Speak and 800 Tom Hannah battling for fifth and Lathan the only car on the lead lap, Chubby who’d also gone out the first of the lapped cars in tenth. 173 Hot Socks took on Nemesis with a head-on and took a hit in turn from 682 Paul Sparrow (Supra) as Lathan span 88 Randy Mulder (740 estate) into the fence while Hot Socks now hit Klokkie and Nemesis continued on opposite to stop rival Bro with a head-on, the latter collected by Lee. The upshot of this lap’s action meant Osborne still led but for the first time was comfortable, Quinsee was second, Vincent down to third and joined by 800 Romeo, Speak, Lee, Lathan and 204 Charlie Boy in the race for third. Chubby was still the first of the lapped cars and nearly came unstuck when he collected Klokkie’s car before Nemesis continued his rampage as he turned round and hit the leader on the nose but Osborne battled on as Hot Socks turned round to nail the DWO man on the nose with Lathan then piling Speak into the Yank. Next time round and Osborne smashed Speak in the rear wheel to continue in the lead which triggered a big push behind as the pack forced a way through on the start line in which 516 Carl Gould (300) fired into Chubby. Osborne’s challenge ended on lap nine as fighting through the mayhem broke his drive shaft but the race was blown open on lap 10 when Nemesis rounded the pit bend on opposite as Vincent attacked Quinsee, the latter slipping away to take the lead while Vincent collected the Autospeed World Champion. The Captain again stuck it to Odd Job as Romeo emerged in third and Lathan fourth, these now the only drivers on the lead lap, Battle and Chubby the next to show. Things would change again on lap 11 when Speak stuffed 348 Sonny Sherwood (estate) into Gouldy and Quinsee whacked Speak as he battled through. Smith then turned round but 348 Mushy turned out of the Gladiators attack and he was struck in the driver’s side. Motormouth meanwhile blasted Nemesis on the nose as Smith flicked it round and Mushy this time met him in a solid head-on which stopped both cars. Quinsee still led from Lathan but Romeo had now fallen foul of the carnage and Chubby had got back on the lead lap in third with Vincent the only other car on the lead lap in fourth while 245 Zac Murdoch (400) and 107 Michael Seex (Omega estate) were now also starting to work up the order despite being more than one lap down. Murdoch’s challenge ended when he was collected by the reversing Nemesis and ran into Klokkie and was blasted by Riddell as well as Quinsee disappeared from contention at half way handing the lead to Lathan who was around half a lap clear of Chubby with Vincent third, 107 Seexy and Riddell not only next in line but now also the only cars still lapping competitively. The action continued as 59 Led Foot joined Hot Socks on opposite on lap 16 of 25 while Seexy was squeezed into the fence the Captain who continued to blast Motormouth in the rear wheel while Hot Socks nailed Led Foot. In the midst of this Vincent was also lapped but remained in third as the next few laps proved quiet but Lathan suffered a real fright on lap 21 when the Captain attacked Hot Socks with a T-bone right in front of him but he was able to nip through. Vincent wasn’t so fortunate as he collected Hot Socks in the front wheel and was dumped into Led Foot by Seexy as Chubby smashed Hot Socks in the rear wheel to get through, Romeo also turning round to blast Led Foot. The Captain now also laid into Hot Socks with the latter catching fire but the flames went out allowing the race to conclude and Lathan picking his way through the corpses to take the chequered flags, his victory signalled by a final show of fireworks. Chubby was second and delivered the final action by firing Lathan into the wall on the run down lap and Romeo powered into the new champion. Heartbreak for Seexy who expired without crossing the line which meant Vincent hung on for third, despite only completing 20 of the 25 laps and Riddell inherited fourth despite only managing 17 laps, Seexy credited with fifth as the only other recorded finisher in a quite superb title race, Nemesis named the best entertainer.

The focus now switched to the Grand Final with all the Supreme finalists seeded into it and the remainder of the entry trying to join them via the consolations and 35 gathered for the first which was another absolute stormer. 746 Tony Jarvis (740 estate) lunged at 912 the Entertainer which in turn fenced 313 Scott Elden (estate) before 768 Danny McSweeney (XJ40) buried 690 Jack Wilkins (240 estate) which in turn fenced 243 Jamie Millen (240 estate) as a big pile-up formed on the road bend and Ben Smith found 10 Ben Collins (Omega) for a head-on. Back on the pit bend and 512 Lewis Harvey (400) destroyed Millen with a fine hit to trigger a great wrecking train as the former was flattened by 132 Bubbles with 514 Chas Taylor (300) administering Shunter revenge with a hard hit only to take one in turn from 232 Jason Pollard (240 estate). 169 James Rushton collected the wreckage and was nailed by a wicked hit from 162 the Jackal who was then trashed by a killer hit from 11 Ryan Leeks’ Omega. On the road bend 313 Scottie Dog ran in Gibbo before McSweeney stuffed 483 Mark Salisbury (740) into the latter before 690 Del Boy flattened 811 Pistol Pete only to take one in turn from Rushton as 165 Steve Chopping (Mk2) smacked Pistol Pete in the front wheel. 11 Leeksy meanwhile nailed Collins as back on the pit bend 96 Stu Palmer turned round to blast Mulley with a T-bone. 206 Dave King (XJ40) trashed 232 Water Boy in the turn two carnage as 741 Charlie Daniels attacked 32 Alan Wombwell (Supra) with the still on opposite 96 Joey zeroing in for a hard head-on to the latter. Back on turn two and Taylor wrecked 690 Del Boy before 206 Kingy nailed 377 Zac Street (740 estate) only to take one in turn from 513 Sean Harvey (400). 132 Bubbles turned round to blast 925 Aaron Preece (240 estate) with 599 Matty also turning round to lay into Joey only to take a rear wheel hit himself from 32 Asbo. Norman meanwhile took time from his lead to bury 741 German Jnr before Collins piled 318 Tony Citro (740 estate) head-on into Mullet as Matty again targeted Joey landing a solid T-bone. Bubbles singled out Collins for a hard head-on and Citro went on opposite to blast the latter as well but this left him open to a hard T-bone from Matty. Bubbles then silenced Rushton with a head-on on turn one leaving Norman to take the flag as the sole official recorded finisher, Bubbles blotting his copybook by turning round to smash the leader head-on after the reds had shown to earn his dismissal from the meeting while Kingy was named the best entertainer.

30 contested the second Consolation which was the most subdued race of the night but still had some lively moments. Things began when 187 Andy Marshall (XJ8) T-boned the spun Fendley before 41 Paul Pentecost (Previa) met the spun Rushton on the nose which caused a pile-up in which Ratty nailed 316 Gary Langley (240 estate) and Panda homed in for a fine hit on the P5. 349 Lewis Price (Previa) span Rushton into the infield blocks as 521 Ashley Riley (XJ40) hammered the well repaired de Roubaix. Chatty Man turned round to lay into Atkins as 421 Nigel Riley (240 estate) span 349 Noddy but Gladiator revenge was swift when Phil Smith piled the chief Bear into team mate Chatty Man. The latter rallied back to stop 384 Goldie on opposite with 41 Balu also laying into the latter with 721 Dan Clarke (240) avoided the on opposite attack of Chatty Man on the final bend to win from Smith and Panda, the latter named the best entertainer.

With many struggling to repair their cars the Grand Final was opened to all which resulted in another 30 cars grid. The race started with a bang as Carlie Boy span Osborne who was T-boned by Winsor with the latter destroyed by BB Man. Balu meanwhile flattened the stricken Norman on the back straight before the action tailed off. 148 Shorty fired into Ben Smith which in turn fenced 17 Chiefy before Speak nailed Chimp in the rear wheel and 439 Sutty blasted the Stinkbridge veteran who was then collected by Murdoch and the Crimond star was blasted hard by Panda. Balu found Speak for a head-on as the action now really exploded by the pit gate and start line. Hoop smashed Shorty into Balu as Chiefy found Panda for a package. 88 Randy Mulder (240 estate) weighed in on de Hoop but took one from Charlie Boy who was wrecked by Battle with Nutty Nige nailing him open to take a solid hit from 617 Jack Overy (XJ). The latter then turned round to weigh into Balu and kept pushing to smash him head-on into Sutty. Ben Smith powered into Battle and copped a fine hit from Chubby as Phil Smith located Chiefy for a hit before 312 Tom Reynolds scored in the rear wheel of the Gladiator. 312 Turbo was nailed by Nige who took a hard hit from Shorty but Bear revenge was swift thanks to Motormouth who took a package from Vincent as Chatty Man turned round to blast Overy. Chimp turned round and met Ben Smith on the nose with Chubby arriving to administer a bruising T-bone on the former and he took one himself from Chatty Man. Hoop now piled Battle into the pit bend carnage with Bro blasting the former as Chubby homed in for a crunching hit on Battle. This left the former Supreme Champion open to another attack from Chatty Man as Ben Smith met de Hoop on the nose which left him open to a hit from the smart Jaguar of 90 Adrian Harboard with Shorty blasting him in turn with the track now completely blocked. Chatty Man now set about Battle as Shorty again powered into 90 Joe Ninety as he sought a way through the blockage. Chubby landed a revenge hit on Chatty Man and Nige hammered the struggling de Hoop with Overy arriving to blast the Bear as de Hoop was silenced by a hit from Joe Ninety who continue to hit Nige on the nose and then took one from Ben Smith. Shorty weighed in on the latter and repeated the move a moment or so later. Overy was still on opposite and blasted Chatty Man and repeated the move further round the pit bend but the Bear young gun hit back with a shot which left him open to an attack from Chubby. Shorty collected the wreckage by the start line and was silenced by a hit from Ben Smith which left Phil Smith to take the flag as the last car running in another stunning race, Chubby the best entertainer.

Some incredible pit work resulted in another 30 plus entry for the Allcomers with 32 cars for another blood bath. This one started with 746 Ted firing into and spinning de Roubaix with Noddy hitting the latter on the nose as Swayze scored on Lathan allowing Panda to stuff the former into de Roubaix. The lone Predator continued to trash 380 Shaky in the midst of a back straight blockage and he was flattened in turn by Nemesis, who had also done well to repair. de Roubaix continued to attack Goldie on opposite and he copped a head-on from 138 Jason Smy (740 estate) as a result with Street then stuffing Phil Smith into the Frenchman before Gibbo rattled Marshall into the wall and into the wreckage on the pit bend with Flats arriving to slaughter Street with a killer hit. Chubby blasted the limping Panda only to take one in turn from Asbo who continue to hit team mate Flats as de Roubaix battled on to hit Swayze on opposite. Nemesis turned round again to treat Ted to a head-on as Chiefy T-boned Smith and was blasted hard by Atkins with Pistol Pete hitting the Mad Hatter which left him open to a rated hit from the impressive Chubby. 154 Tony Lawton (XJ) turned round to hit de Roubaix as Marshall hit Chubby in the rear wheel. Smy took a wild lunge at Sutty to add them both to the growing turn four heap as 717 Jack Tuffen weighed in on Atkins and took one in turn from Goldie who was blasted by Lathan while Carmoy inflicted further damage to Pistol Pete. 741 German Jnr laid into 714 Paul Smaldon as Smy turned round to attack Noddy. Langley also turned round and gamely attacked Nemesis before Carmoy powered into Lathan as Chubby continued his epic one man display with a big hit on Marshall. Asbo also piled into the latter and copped it in turn from Noddy as German Jnr scored on Smy while McSweeney spotted the on opposite Asbo at the end of the back straight and did not back off in delivering a titanic head-on. Chubby laid into German Jnr as Chiefy attacked Atkins and Tuffen hit Gibbo. With no way through on the pit bend the reds were shown and with no one having completed many laps no result was given and instead entertainer awards were presented to Chubby and McSweeney, Tuffen and Goldie continuing long after the red flags to earn them both a load up.

The action had clearly taken its toll but despite the late hour the Accumulator qualifier still went ahead although somewhat unsurprisingly only 13 made it back although they rewarded the fans still on hand with a fine end to the evening. BB Man began with an attack on Phil Smith as Klokkie ran Osborne in hard. Lathan powered into BB Man only to take one from Preece which span him and Lathan and Water Boy homed in for a head-on to the new champion while 599 Matty zeroed in for a stonking Head-on to BB Man. Motormouth also delivered a head-on to Lathan as Swayze delivered Drive Inn revenge with a cracking hit on Matty but this left him open to a brutal hit from Preece who was trashed by an equally hard hit from Lathan. Chatty Man meanwhile turned round to destroy BB Man with a hit as Chiefy inflicted further stick on Preece. Motormouth then belted the Team Black young gun to end a superb opening minute of action. Smith was also on opposite and further wasted BB Man with a shot which left him open for a flat out hit from Osborne who took a big one himself from Chiefy. Chatty Man was still on opposite and found Klokkie for a hit and continued to follow him in as well with Lathan arriving for a hard head-on with the former. Motormouth then roared down the home straight on opposite to nail Lathan with a big head-on although this only served to silence the Bear Mercedes. Lathan battled on to deliver a revenge hit on Chatty Man before meeting the game Preece on the nose. This left the latter open to a destructive hit from Chatty Man who then met Lathan head-on on the home straight. They both continued to meet again on the nose on the pit bend from which only the Bear continued to win, yet again as the last car running, Preece named the best entertainer.

The first round of the BriSCA F2 Stockcar Mildenhall Track Championship raised a quite superb field of 55 cars, even more impressive with two World of Shale qualifying rounds being held in the following seven days. West country man 290 Jay Tompkins was one of the many to cover serious distance to attend, making his Mildenhall debut in the formula as did 842 Ben Kerry. 523 Adam Darby, 579 Adam Clark and 896 Adam Corburn while having returned to the formula earlier in the month 702 Allan Cooper was also noted by his presence.

26 cars for heat one with 431 Andy Gibbs setting the pace as 569 Chris Hands found the wall on turn three before Clark went round on the pit bend and was collected by 150 Mark Thoms and with the former unable to get running the reds were thrown and a complete restart ordered. The race resumed with an early clash involving Thoms, Tompkins and 969 Bart Smeets as Gibbs again showed the way with 798 Mark Sargent into third. Gibbs barged past the recovered Smeets and Sargent fired 695 Shaun Russell wide as he tried to close the gap with 380 Steve Cayzer and 186 George Turiccki making excellent early progress to break into the top six, the latter climbing to third by half way before the reds came out again for a three car pile-up on the road bend. This time a lap sheet order restart was needed and Sargent wasted no time in blasting past Gibbs for the lead but this was just the start of a superb conclusion to the race. Turiccki nipped past to take it up with five to run with Cayzer and Sargent on his bumper and 260 Anthony Winters and 977 Dave Massey close behind. Sargent used his bumper to take back the lead with four to go as Cooper and Massey tangled taking them out of contention. Meanwhile the leaders were incredibly three abreast coming off turn four and Turiccki squeezed through the middle to reclaim the lead. Massey then span Winters and they were collected by Cayzer which promoted Cooper to third as Turiccki edged away from Sargent to win a superb first race of the season.

Up to 28 for heat two with 987 Sam Brigg firing into Corburn from the off as 366 Richy Kemp led the way from Brigg and 376 Darren Seneschall with 145 Graham Mole quickly into fourth from the yellow grade and he was soon up to third as 19 Martin Ford removed 724 Tom Pell. Mole passed Brigg for second and challenged Kemp and quickly raced into the lead as Seneschall span and was collected by Ford while 81 Mark Clayton removed 225 Tony Blackburn. 448 John Wright climbed to third with while 871 Mark Simpson came under fire from 219 Chris Mitchell. 606 Andy Palmer now emerged in fourth place as behind 866 Bobby Griffin used his bumper on 449 Mark Dorrill in the battle for fifth while 597 Barry Clow span. Palmer moved past Coleman for third and then fired Wright wide for second but Mole was comfortably clear and took an impressive win from Palmer and Wright with 615 Josh Coleman spinning Wright after he’d taken the place.

It was a long break until the consolation which helped 24 drivers make it back and there was an early spin for 630 Justin Parker while Kerry had 743 Lee Armstrong around. Brigg set the pace but lost much of his advantage when he overcooked it on the pit bend although he was helped when 372 Steve North span 417 Allan Weston and this delayed Corburn and 158 Will Clements. Seneschall moved to second with 136 Kyle Taylor third as the recovered Weston tangled with 623 Adam Dobie. Taylor raced into second and Darby on his tail before the latter was fired to the fence by the charging 823 Sam Wagner who then eased past Seneschall for third. Brigg then tangled with 537 Tom Allsop costing him time and Wagner pounced and grabbed the lead with Seneschall and Blackburn moving into the top three, the latter coon taking second while Seneschall’s chances ended with a clash with 130 Daniel Ford as the latter took third and that was how it stayed with Wagner racing to the win from Blackburn and Daniel Ford.

Cruelly 298 Jake Walker blew his engine as he crossed the line in the consolation but the remaining 29 qualifiers all gathered for the Grand Final but the first attempt was short lived when Clayton span and could not get running and being left in the centre of the bend the reds were thrown and a complete restart ordered. The restart was again led away by Gibbs as Wright fired Blackburn to the fence and Gibbs came under fire from Dorrill. Cayzer fired into Wartefield and right dumped out Gibbs before 124 Ollie Skeels ran into the stricken Blackburn to bring the reds out for the former who was winded in the shunt. Again with less than five laps completed a complete restart was again needed by which point only 19 cars remained. Dorrill led them as the sole surviving white grade driver with the early order behind showing 994 Paul Hopkins, 995 Michael Lund, Winters and Wright with 732 Daz Kitson the first of the blue grade. 231 Matt Clayton overhauled Winters to break into the top six while 38 Dave Polley emerged as the lead star man in eighth although he was soon passed by Cooper as Massey became the latest retirement. Winters span from contention as Dorrill continued to lead on lap six, the top three the same but Clayton was up to fourth ahead of Hopkins and Mitchell. Winters was a factor again clashing with Dorrill which allowed Lund to close and on lap nine Lund snatched the lead and by half way it was Lund from Wright, Clayton, Dorrill, Mitchell, Kitson, Parker, Hopkins, Polley and Turiccki. Mitchell fired into Dorrill which in turn send Clayton round as Hopkins clashed with Turiccki and Wagner nipped past them both. Elsewhere and Parker came under attack from Coleman as Wright grabbed the lead with five to run. Wagner went wide exiting turn four and was passed by Cayzer and Polley as Dorrill was showing superb determination for a podium finish but cruelly his last bend attack on Mitchell saw him spin and drop out of the top 10 all together, an effort made even more painful when a lap sheet check confirmed Mitchell as being a lap down and so Wright took the win ahead of Lund with Kitson confirmed in third.

Despite the late hour and only having one banger race for repairs this time a hugely impressive 25 cars returned for the Grand National with Smeets going round at the start while a big push at the rear of the field saw Cooper hit the way before Winters went round on turn two and was collected by Mitchell, Daniel Ford and Wagner and the former was unable to get out of harms way which brought the reds out and a complete restart was ordered. Clements found the fence at the start as Brigg again showed the way while Thoms removed Martin Ford. Dorrill raced into second ahead of Taylor who lost his spot to Lund as Polley span. At half way Brigg still led from Dorrill, Lund, Blackburn, Cayzer, Cooper and Turiccki with Lund soon up to second but Brigg then lost time trying to lap Wright and Lund closed but his move backfired as he span Brigg and took himself out too and Dorrill inherited the lead with three to go but Cayzer and Turiccki were on his tail and the former grabbed the lead a lap later. Cayzer then had to deal with the now back marking Brigg and they tangled and Turiccki snatched the lead with a lap to go and took his second win of the night, Cooper second and Blackburn just beat Dorrill and Cayzer for third.

Heat one: 186 George Turiccki, 798, 702, 380, 977, 995, 124, 231, 887, 431, 260, 290
Heat two: 145 Graham Mole, 606, 448, 871, 732, 38, 866, 219, 449, 81, 994, 615
Consolation: 823 Sam Wagner, 225, 130, 630, 298, 742, 150, 136, 724, 537
Grand Final: 448 John Wright, 995, 732, 823, 380, 186, 615, 630, 260, 994
Grand National: Turiccki, 702, 225, 449, 380, 823, 219, 136, 995, 448

A quite stunning night of action, certainly the best at the stadium in over a year with a storming night of unlimited banger action and surely the best Supreme Championship meeting in history with one of the best championship races to date plus a majestic return to the raceway for the BriSCA F2 Stockcars although the volume of the action had its drawbacks and the late finish was the only real down point of a memorable night.
